This page explains what we store in your browser, why, and how to get rid of it. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy.
A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to keep. “Local storage” is a similar mechanism that keeps data on your device without sending it back to us on every request. We use both, and we use as little of each as we can.
Sign-in session. If you create an account and sign in, a session cookie keeps you signed in between pages. Without it you would have to sign in again on every click. It is removed when you sign out.
Favorites. Your saved stations and channels are kept in your browser's local storage, on your device. They are not uploaded to us, which is why they don't follow you to a different browser or phone.
Player preferences. Volume and the last station you played are stored locally so the player behaves the way you left it.
Google AdSense. Advertising keeps this service free. Google and its advertising partners set cookies to limit how often you see the same ad, to measure whether an ad worked, and — where permitted — to personalise which ads you see. You can review and switch off personalised advertising at Google My Ad Center.
Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand which stations and channels people actually use, so we know what to fix and what to add. It reports on visits in aggregate, not on you by name.
Firebase Authentication. If you sign in, Google's Firebase Authentication stores tokens needed to keep you signed in securely.
We do not control the cookies these services set, and their behaviour is governed by their own policies, not ours.
When you play a station or channel, your browser connects directly to that broadcaster's stream server. That server can see your IP address and may set its own cookies. We have no control over, and no visibility into, what any individual broadcaster does. See the Third-Party Streams section of our Privacy Policy.
Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies, and clear local storage, from its settings or privacy menu. You can also browse in a private or incognito window, which discards everything when you close it.
Blocking cookies is your right, and most of the site will still work. Two things will break: you won't be able to stay signed in, and your favorites won't be remembered.
If we add or remove a service that stores something in your browser, we will update this page and change the date at the top.
