Several residents of Source Matelas were killed yesterday during an attack by Canaanite and Titanyen bandits. There is no count of the dead and injured, but the Casec of the area confirms numerous deaths.
During the offensive, the bandits also set fire to a number of homes.
The bandits, allies of the Village of God gang, want to take control of the Lafiteau area, which is home to Source Matelas.
This industrial zone is home to several large corporations, including Haiti’s Moulins, the National Cimentery (Cina), the Port of Lafiteau, and a sugar company. The bandits want to take over the region, but the residents have been fighting back since January.
